2023 Fellow: Allison Chau
Bio: Allison is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Materials Department in the Interfacial Engineering Lab of Professor Angela Pitenis. Her current research focuses on tuning the mechanical and tribological properties of hydrogels through polymerization conditions and external stimuli (e.g., light, pH).
Statement: I am very excited to join the CSEP Mentor Leadership team as the graduate fellow this year. Mentorship is a crucial, yet often overlooked, aspect of grad school, and I look forwardto putting together resources for grad students and postdocs to help us learn how to become better mentors.
